WHY MUSIC TEACHERS CHOOSE ROWLAND HEIGHTS MUSIC ACADEMY
A CONSTANT FLOW OF NEW STUDENTS TO KEEP SCHEDULES FULL
Throughout the year, students may move or quit, leading to gaps in a teacher’s schedule. At RHMA, we invest heavily in advertising and marketing year-round to maintain full schedules for our teachers. We continually register new students, even during typically slow months like April and July. Most of our teachers have schedules that are 80-95% full.
FOCUS SOLELY ON TEACHING
Our friendly and organized administrative staff handles all the details, from scheduling to fee collection and recital organization. This allows teachers to concentrate on teaching without worrying about administrative tasks or dealing with tuition collection and scheduling issues. Our admin team works seven days a week to ensure everything is taken care of for you.
EMPLOYEE STATUS FOR TEACHERS
Our teachers are classified as employees, providing many benefits, such as ease in obtaining car loans, home mortgages, and other applications that favor consistent employment over contractor positions. Employee jobs can be hard to find for professional musicians, so we are proud to offer this benefit! Teachers are paid via direct deposit twice a month.
GUARANTEED PAYMENT FOR LATE CANCELLATIONS
Teachers are paid if students fail to provide at least 16 hours’ notice for cancellations. Even with proper notice, we strive to book make-up lessons so teachers are still compensated. This ensures our teachers have a stable income each month.
NO EXTRA MAKE-UP LESSONS OUTSIDE YOUR SCHEDULE
Make-up lessons are only scheduled within your regular teaching hours. Students sign up for make-up lessons during other students’ absences, so you never need to set aside extra time outside of your normal schedule.
FREEDOM TO USE PREFERRED MATERIALS
There is no mandated curriculum or set of method books at RHMA. Unlike many other music schools or stores, we do not sell merchandise or books. We trust our teachers to be experts and encourage them to use the materials they believe are best for each student.
STUDENT RECITALS
RHMA offers two recitals each year at the beautiful Boston Court Pasadena.
COMFORTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ENVIRONMENT
We provide a beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained teaching space with ample waiting room for students and comfortable teaching rooms. Additionally, we offer coffee, Wi-Fi, and a teacher’s lounge for making copies, socializing, or taking breaks.
EASY ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM
Teachers can access their updated schedules, absences, make-ups, and more online through their teacher portal. The system is easy to navigate, allowing teachers to stay up-to-date on their students and schedules from anywhere. Email notifications are sent immediately for any schedule changes.
MOTIVATE STUDENTS WITH OUR LEVEL UP PROGRAM
Our customizable Level Up program is designed to motivate students and engage parents. It helps students practice harder, make more progress, and stay in lessons longer, all while being easy for teachers to implement.
RESPECT AND APPRECIATION
We value and respect each of our instructors. Excellent teachers are hard to find, and we truly appreciate your expertise. Feel free to ask for references from current instructors—they love it here!
